Happy Birthday to Motown legend, Diana Ross! Today takes her into her 71st year of life, and she has so much to reflect back on. From being a member of The Supremes in the swinging 60s to winning a golden globe for her role as Billie Holiday in Lady Sings the Blues. Ross is one of the most successful female singers of all time, and has been entertaining the world for over four decades! Helping pave the way for black female singers in the industry back then and today, she still continues to perform internationally to sold-out concerts all over the world. Singing is her passion and she doesn’t plan on giving up on it anytime soon!

– Her 3- girl band The Supremes carries the record of scoring 12 number-one hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 back when they were in their prime.
– In Britain, Diana Ross was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as being “The Most Successful Female Artist of All Time” – with over 70 hit singles to date.
– Mother Ross has five very successful children. Three daughters named Tracee, Rhoda and Chudney and two sons named Ross and Evan.
– She has her very own playground in New York. The ”Diana Ross Playground” at 81st Street & Central Park West.
– She worked as a secretary for Motown Records CEO Berry Gordy Jr. while her records were being marketed in the 1960s.
– Back in 1999 she was arrested for grabbing an airport security guard’s breast, whom she claimed touched her breasts’ while being frisked. Well, tit for tatt that’s the spirit!
– In 1983 she introduced a line of pantyhose named “Diana Ross Ultra Sheers”
– She has two stars on the Hollywood walk of fame, one for her work with The Supremes and one for her solo career.
– She is the most successful female recording artist ever with 18 US Nº1 hits and 70 top 10 hits, since 1964
– Received the Lifetime Achievement Award from MIDEM in 1994
– Billboard Magazine named her Female Entertainer of The Century.
