The Prodigy – Nasty

By | Music Videos | No Comments

It’s man against beast in The Prodigy’s animated urban warfare-styled video for their new brash and chaotic single Nasty. The track premiered yesterday (January 12) on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show and will feature on their upcoming new album, The Day Is My Enemy, their first album for six years! The animated clip features an adorable furry hero (who is the cover star of their new album) in a battle of wills with some local hunters. The final showdown is a bit transformative.

Veteran electronic act The Prodigy have harnessed the same kind of explosive energy on this track that is found on previous hits like Breathe and Smack My Bitch Up. The follow-up album to 2009’s Invaders Must Die features 14 tracks and according to founding member Liam Howlett, promises to be a more collaborative effort, one that will “stand apart” from today’s current EDM scene.

The band will be touring the UK to support the album release and tickets go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday January 14). They previously announced a load of festival dates, including a performance at Australia’s traveling Future Music tour in February, as well as at Rock AM/Rock IM Park in Germany and the Isle of Wight Festival in the summer.

If you’re interested in the real-life battle between the foxes and the people of London, read more in this article in the Telegraph.

The album will be released on March 30 via Three Six Zero Music/Warner Bros. and the band’s own Take Me to the Hospital imprint.

Marvel’s Avengers:
Age of Ultron Trailer 2

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer 2 has arrived and it’s incredible! It reveals the mayhem and madness that happens when Avengers turn on each other…Fans will be most delighted to see Ultron up close and terrifying. “Everyone creates the thing they dread,” Ultron declares in the trailer (voiced by James Spader). “I’m going to tear you apart… from the inside.” Seeing that Ultron can conceivably infect anything technological, including for example, your phone, this seems like a reasonably valid threat and not one that could be easily defeated.

(To watch this trailer in Creation 5, just tap here.)

Marvel released the trailer yesterday evening (Jan 12) and it already has over 2 million views in under 24 hours! The trailer might only be 1 minute 40 seconds long but it packs in so much information. We get a closer look at the mega evil of Ultron, Hulk does a lot of smashing things up, Captain America seems to be in a lot of trouble and we get to see the Avengers fight not just Ultron’s evil but the discord amongst themselves. As the Black Widow says in the trailer, “Oh boy.”

We were also fascinated by a mystery woman in a cave – who is she and what is her significance? She must be integral to the plot. The trailer doesn’t give us any answers so we’re thinking could this cave be a place where Vibranium is extracted? Surely Ultron could figure a way to construct a version of himself from Vibranium – he’s smart enough. Captain America’s shield is made from Vibranium and it is found in the fictional African nation of Wakanda…so maybe…just maybe…

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in North America on May 1 and in the UK on April 24.

Dolce & Gabbana
Summer 2015 Campaign

By | Music Videos | No Comments

The video for the Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2015 Campaign is wonderful! It’s full of shirtless male models, Victoria Secret’s models, flamenco dancing, a few Olé’s and of course, some drop dead gorgeous clothes. In the plethora of fashion campaigns that mostly feature depressed looking models, Dolce campaigns are always much more fun and alive. This year’s is no exception – traditional Italian and Spanish elements combine together for some colourful Mediterranean sensuality.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

The video features Bianca Balti, Vittoria Ceretti, Irina Sharipova and Blanca Padilla (a new Victoria’s Secret model) as the fashion matadors the designers sent down the runway back in September last year for their Spanish-influenced collection.

It also features José Maria Manzanares – a 28 year old Spanish bullfighter who at age 12 faced his first bull. He inherited his skills from his father and grandfather and made his debut on the arena before the age 20. Today he’s one of the most talented bullfighters in the world.

Nicki Minaj: My Time Again trailer

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Nicki Minaj’s wild, emotional journey on the road to her 2014 album The Pinkprint is the subject of a new MTV documentary titled Nicki Minaj: My Time Again. The film is a sequel to her 2010 documentary My Time Now which looked at the rapper’s meteoric rise to fame and the release of her debut album Pink Friday. Now that she is already established as one of hip-hops top MCs she has broken into another stratosphere of stardom and, as seen in the trailer, the sequel provides an in-depth look at Minaj – in the studio, on the stage and with friends and family.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

“I didn’t know that this album would entail an emotional roller coaster,” Minaj says in the trailer. “No one could prepare for this business. Until you are in it, you really can’t wrap your brain around it.”

The 60-minute film also takes a look at last year’s chaotic MTV Video Music Awards – a huge python bites one of the back-up dancers during rehearsals and Minaj suffers a serious wardrobe malfunction during her performance of Bang Bang with Ariana Grande and Jessie J. We also get a rare glimpse into Her Minajesty’s private life, with plenty of laughs and tears along the way. “Every human needs to push themselves to the point of breaking sometimes,” she explains. “If you never break, you never know how much pressure you could take.”

Nicki Minaj: My Time Again will air on Sunday, January 18 at 10pm (ET/PT) on MTV.

2Cellos – Wake Me Up – Avicii

By | Music Videos | No Comments

OMG Get your dancing shoes on because this cover of Avicii’s Wake Me Up by 2Cellos is absolutely brilliant! A dance anthem like you’ve never heard it before! 2Cellos, made up of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, have been sharing their incredible covers of famous songs for a few years now, covering songs by Iron Maiden, Sting, Mumford and Sons and AC/DC, and this cover proves yet again that no song is out of bounds for the classical instrument.

Musically, the duo have taken an Avicii song that combines electronic dance music with pop country and put their neo-classical meets rock and roll spin on it. It transcends boundaries of age and time – and the video fits that very nicely as well.

The creative video shows three distinct eras: the duos beginnings in 1996, as rebels taking cello lessons when they were kids, to head-banging club appearances in the present day 2015, to the future in 2069 when they cause mayhem in an old people’s home. All in just 4 minutes!

Iggy Azalea – Beg For It

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Watch Iggy Azalea make the crowd Beg For It in her stunning performance at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles. The “Black Widow” rapper was named Favourite Hip-Hop Artist beating Jay Z, Drake, T.I. and, yes, Nicki Minaj! Iggy gave the most visually arresting performance of the evening. The stage set was styled a la De Stijl – all sharp angles and bright primary colours.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

On Wednesday evening (January 7) the biggest names in Hollywood gathered at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the 41st Annual People’s Choice Awards, hosted by Anna Faris and Allison Janney, with celebrity guests Ellen DeGeneres, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams and Melissa McCarthy. At these awards the winners are chosen completely by fans. Performances came from Iggy Azalea, Lady Antebellum and Fall Out Boy.

Just before naming Iggy the winner of Favourite Hip-Hop artist presenter Monica Potter, as part of a joke with Dax Shepard, listed a few mangled rapper names like “Snoopy Dogg” and “Dr. Drew.” and “Igloo Australia” – which was the derogatory moniker that Azalia Banks had branded Iggy with on a recent Twitter feud. In true star style, Iggy brushed off the reference and thanked her fans assuring them that the award was “not wasted on me.”

Aside from Iggy’s great performance, one of our favourite parts of the show was when Ben Affleck receiving a special humanitarian honour. Amy Adams presented him with the Favourite Humanitarian Award for his extensive work with the East Congo Initiative.

“Sometimes the world is just a terrible and scary place,” he said during his acceptance speech. “But one thing I learned by watching people… is trying to do just a little bit…the one way to combat the sad things we see… is to try to bring a little bit of kindness into the world.”

Sia – Elastic Heart
ft. Shia LaBeouf & Maddie Ziegler

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Bizarre, intriguing, confusing, artistic and mesmerising! Sia’s music video for her new single Elastic Heart is true art and great casting, starring Maddie Ziegler and Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf, Sia has delivered a fitting visual sequel to Chandelier. Uploaded to YouTube yesterday afternoon (Jan 7) it has already notched up an incredible 3.2 million views in less than 24 hours.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

The video was directed by Australian Daniel Askill, who also shot Chandelier, and was choreographed by Ryan Heffington. It’s an emotionally wrought video focusing on an exhausting emotional exorcism which all unfolds inside an oversized birdcage. It’s completely captivating and wonderfully oddball.

Ziegler wears the same blonde wig and bodysuit that she wore for Chandelier and her manic performance is just as passionate and intense. The dancing, at times, looks like professional wrestling and other times like Capoeira. LaBeouf also gives an incredible performance – it’s certainly one of the most memorable music videos we’ve seen in a long time.

Creating art always upsets some people and there has been some backlash in the last 24 hours with people taking to Twitter with “paedophilia” concerns. Sia has tweeted her defence, claiming that her intention was to “create some emotional content” and portray her “two warring self states”. That’s the nature of creating art; if there isn’t an element of upset, you probably aren’t doing it right.

The track is the latest to be lifted from Sia’s latest album 1000 Forms of Fear and was originally written for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack.

Sia will appear on Saturday Night Live on January 17 with Maddie Zeigler.

DJ Fresh feat. Ella Eyre – Gravity

By | Music Videos | No Comments

DJ Fresh is back with a huge tune – Gravity – featuring the soulful vocals of Ella Eyre. Watch the pair of them in a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired visual, driving a rather nice Mustang, as they run from the law after killing a man that delivered a bag full of cash.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

The track first premiered in November 2014 on Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record. It utilises Ella’s powerful vocals over a drum and bass beat with DJ Fresh’s signature touches – the pulsing beats, soaring chorus and haunting organ. Ella has already achieved chart success and a Brit Award from her collaboration with Rudimental, which was also a drum and bass-driven anthem.

Gravity will be released on February 8 via Ministry of Sound and will appear on DJ Fresh’s upcoming 4th studio album, expected to be released sometime later this year,

Marvel’s Ant-Man first trailer

By | Music Videos | No Comments

It’s finally here! Watch Paul Rudd as a pint-sized hero in Marvel’s first full length, full size trailer for Ant-Man. No more super tiny 18-second teasers the real thing arrived during yesterday’s premiere of Agent Carter on ABC. The film stars Paul Rudd as the eponymous superhero and his alter ego Scott Lang, a con man who inherits this super suit that allows him to decrease in size and increase in strength. Michael Douglas takes the supporting role playing Dr Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man who mentors Lang and helps him pull off a daring heist.

(To watch this trailer in Creation 5, just tap here.)

“This is your chance to earn that look in your daughter’s eyes — to become the hero she already thinks you are.” Pym says to Lang. “It’s Not About Saving Our World, It’s About Saving Theirs” Family seems to be a primary focus for Ant-Man, perhaps this is reason that he finally decides to put on the magical suit. When we see him suited up for the first time we also get to see some big-time shrinking effects. The smaller Ant-Man becomes the bigger the adventure gets!

Ant-Man is certainly an oddball and at first glance it may seem like he is a B or even C-list character in the Marvel universe but he is in fact a founding Avenger – check out the cover of the first Avengers comic from the early 60s at the bottom of this page, alongside the poster for the movie.

Aside from Rudd and Douglas the cast also includes Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena and Martin Donovan. Payton Reed directs from a script by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari and Adam McKay.

Ant-Man opens in cinemas on July 17.

AXE Black Presents
Welcome to the Jungle

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Guns N’ Roses’ massive rock hits do lend themselves easily to all sorts of cover versions, but this cover of Welcome to the Jungle by folk singer Novo Amor is probably the least like a Guns N’ Roses song that we’ve ever heard. Very cool music video though.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

This new advert for AXE Black (Lynx Black in the UK) aims for “high-octane and opulent visual aesthetic to highlight a life of excess as juxtaposition to Novo Amor’s unexpected and uniquely ‘quiet’ take on the traditionally loud sounds of a band known for extreme excess”.

Amor said: “Welcome to the Jungle is one of those legendary songs that many people around the world have grown up with – it’s a pop culture phenomenon. When you hear it, it grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. But that’s not the only reason it’s a powerful song. So, I was excited when Lynx approached me with this opportunity to put my own unique stamp on it.”

Global vice-president for Lynx at Unilever Tomas Marcenaro said: “Not only does Lynx Black represent a significant new tone and grooming line for the brand, it also marks new territory in the way we are engaging our fans. Lynx has a long history in the music space – something our guys and girls are passionate about – so we’re excited to partner with such incredible talent and present our first full music video.”
