Happy Birthday Adam Levine!

By | Featured, Music

Adam Levine is now well into his 30s and seems to be improving with age like a fine wine. His career has never been better, his appearance has never been more on point and his musical journey has reached a peak that will leave a mark on the charts and in the history books. Dabbling in all avenues of the industry, there’s not a field he won’t explore, and it’s that attitude and charisma that has kept him on top. That same attitude however, has landed him in lots of trouble, but when you hear him explain himself it really doesn’t seem all that bad. After all, he is an artist.

“I can be a huge pain in the ass, huge pain in the ass. That’s part of who I am and there’s not a person I know who doesn’t think I’m a pain in the ass. But I’m also really nice and a completely affable and socially adept person. There’s a difference between being an asshole and a pain in the ass.”

“You wouldn’t be a complete band without a slightly cocky frontman, would you?”

“There are two kinds of men. There are men who are fucking misogynist pigs, and then there are men who really love women, who think they’re the most amazing people in the world. And that’s me. Maybe the reason I was promiscuous, and wanted to sleep with a lot of them, is that I love them so much.”

“Instinctively, monogamy is not in our genetic makeup. I have cheated. And you know what? There is nothing worse than the feeling of doing it.”

“I spend most of my life naked. In fact, I often have to be told by the people around me that it’s inappropriate to be as naked as I am.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

By | Featured, Music

St. Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick’s Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.

May the Irish hills caress you;
may her lakes and rivers bless you;
may the luck of the Irish enfold you;
may the blessings of St Patrick behold you

Everyone’s Irish on March 17 and celebrations are held all over the world. Our favourite tradition is in Chicago where they’ve been dying the river green every year since 1962!
st-patricks-day-Creation5-2

Here’s our Top 10 Irish sayings:

  1. May neighbours respect you, trouble neglect you, the angels protect you, and Heaven accept you.
  2. May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been, the foresight to know where you are going, and the insight to know when you have gone too far.
  3. “All the world’s a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.” – Sean O’Casey
  4. It is better to spend money like there’s no tomorrow than to spend tonight like there’s no money!
  5. May you always have a clean shirt, a clear conscience, and enough coins in your pocket to buy a pint!
  6. It’s easy to halve the potato where there’s love.
  7. May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.
  8. May you die in bed at 95, shot by a jealous spouse.
  9. Here’s to women’s kisses, and to whiskey, amber clear. Not as sweet as a woman’s kiss, but a darn sight more sincere!
  10. A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures.

We’ve made a special St. Patrick’s Day playlist (17 songs) with our favourite Irish sounds in celebration of this special day. So pour a pint of Guinness and stick a shamrock in your cap tonight! Sláinte!

Meghan Trainor – Dear Future Husband

By | Music, Music Videos | No Comments

Meghan Trainor has released a new music video for her most recent single Dear Future Husband, lifted from her highly successful debut studio album Title.

The video is theatrical, colourful, playful and backed by a barbershop quartet. Directed by Revon Yousif the bright visuals are consistent with that Doo-Wop retro charm that we have come to associate with Trainor. She’s also looking better than ever in her high waisted patent skirts.

The song is basically a dear diary letter, that she’s hoping her future husband will read, or in this case hear.
”Dear future husband,
Here’s a few things
You’ll need to know if you wanna be
My one and only all my life’’

That’s the intro to the song as well as the beginning of the chorus. In our opinion, there isn’t a request we don’t agree with,

”You got that 9 to 5
 But, baby, so do I
, So don’t be thinking I’ll be home and baking apple pies.”

Sounds fair enough, right?

Trainor will perform at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards later this month along with the likes of Madonna, Rihanna and Sam Smith. She then embarks on a headline UK tour next month, which includes a night at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The North American MTrain Tour kicks off on July 3 in Atlantic City.

Rae Sremmurd – Throw Sum Mo
ft. Nicki Minaj, Young Thug

By | Music, Music Videos | No Comments

Rae Sremmurd’s latest collaboration Throw Sum Mo with Nicki Minaj and Young Thug is just as we expected. With the song being about throwing money at strippers, getting more money, and then throwing larger dollar bills at them, they managed to come up with a simple video concept. I bet you can guess it.

Everybody wins, the strippers love it, the rich horny young rappers/ thugs get to put their overflowing income to good use, and Nicki Minaj gets to parade her massive tits around the joint whilst all this is taking place. Oh and of course she’s spitting sick versus, but if she wasn’t it would just be really out of place.

Strippers on rollerblades. Strippers. On. Rollerblades.

Sunday Sessions with La Negra Mayté

By | Music

Born, raised and now well established in sunny southern Spain, Mayté Martinez recorded her first LP at the tender age of 16. Right off the bat her music was being played on the nations favourite radio stations.

La Negra Mayté en Acustico-Me da miedo de la luna (tap on any video title to open in Creation 5)

Her studies took her to the Conservatory of Music in Marbella, and that’s when she started performing at several popular Piano Bar’s. It was at these events where she shared the stage with artists such as Kool & The Gang, Heatwave, Jocelyn Brown and George Duke, to name but a few.

Uno De Los Nuestros: La Negra Mayté

Bouncing from Spain to Germany Mayté spent a few years working in Metropolis where she met Bobby Kimball from the legendary band Toto. Bobby put her in contact with Chaka Kahn and she had the opportunity to sing backing vocals in some of her concerts. From Germany she went to London where she spent time recording such tracks as Text Me for the Ministry of Sound, Groovejet (Sophie E. Bextor) and Cannot Get You Out of My Head (Kylie Minogue).

Mayte accompanied Pasión Vega on her Queen of Pay Pay tour (2007) with backing vocals, and the following tour Gracias a la vida (2009) as part of the choir and minor percussion. She also participated in the DVD Passion in Buenos Aires recorded at the National Theatre of Argentina.

Currently, going by her stage name La Negra Mayté, she has immersed herself into her next recording job, purely focused on the Neo Soul genre, her happy place.

THE LEON PROJECT – Lounge State Of Mind – Ft. La Negra Mayté & Chandé

La Negra Mayté chose our Sunday Sessions this week:

1-Whitney Houston & Stevie Wonder Live From Arsenio Hall Show ‘We Didn’t Know’ 1990
“My two soulful music inspirations in my live music career.”

2-Pedro Aznar – Dream Of The Return (Pat Metheny) Live
“One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard, still can’t sing it because I get very emotional!”

Ellen and Michelle Obama
Break It Down

By | Music, Music Videos | No Comments

We have a sneaky suspicion there’s never a dull moment in the White House ever since Obama’s election. Recently, the US First Lady, Michelle Obama, appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show to mark the 5th anniversary of her ‘Let’s Move’ initiative, aimed to inspire people to get active and have fun doing it. Michelle and Ellen have a chat first and then break into a fantastic dance routine. (If you prefer to get straight to the dancing, rather than hear them chat first, fast forward to 3:13)

Whilst on the show, Michelle revealed that as part of her campaign, there will be a dance routine on the front lawn of the White house on April 6, during the annual Easter Egg Roll. The dancers will be a host of helpers from the popular reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance. Of course, they will be getting jiggy to the tune of Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars.

During her airtime with Ellen, Michelle stated: “We’re asking folks all across the country to #GimmeFive ways they are leading a healthy life, Beyonce gave me five, and Ryan Seacrest and Nick Jonas and even the astronauts on the space shuttle, the International Space Shuttle, got involved.”

One of our five has got to be listen to more happy music at C5! (Which leads to dancing… and then fitness ensues.) 🙂 There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them!

Muse – Psycho

By | Music, Music Videos | No Comments

Muse get their war faces on in their new lyric video for Psycho. This adrenaline-pumped song is from their upcoming album, Drones, set to be released June 8, 2015.

The video begins with what seems to be a drill sergeant yelling a spew of army-drenched authoritative dialogue which is featured throughout the entire track, giving the song this intense edge from the get-go. Muse has gone a lot heavier and darker with this style of music, but their fans are crazy for it.

The band co-produced the disc with Robert John ‘’Mutt’’ Lange who has produced albums for the likes of AC/DC, Maroon 5, Nickelback and Shania Twain. The band is currently on tour in the UK and will be travelling around the rest of Europe during the summer months.

Frontman Matt Bellamy had this to say about the track: “To me, drones are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by drones utilising drones to turn us all into drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”

So, safe to say they’re pretty obsessed with drones at the minute, fair play to them..

Miranda Lambert – Little Red Wagon

By | Music, Music Videos | No Comments

A cheeky Miranda Lambert struts her stuff in new music video Little Red Wagon, her third single off new album Platinum. Just released a couple of days ago to YouTube and the video already has over 2 million views. However, a fair chunk of her fans seem displeased with the her new look and sound, missing her old country rock.

Popular opinions agree that she’s sold herself out to the mainstream masses to remain relevant. They dislike how this new music video is so sexualised, and is distasteful of a married woman. A YouTube comment with over 100 likes states: ”There was so much sexual over tones in this video that I feel that’s all the video was about. The song got lost in the video. All we really got was tits & ass….I love Miranda but HATE the direction she’s taking her music’’

Personally, we don’t see what problems her husband could possibly have with such a fun, naughty, yet innocent enough production by his successful wife. Sure, the video is very sexual, more so than usual for her, but it seems almost all videos are like that nowadays, we’re just obsessed with the cute pooch side-kick who stars in the clip alongside her and her outrageous red boots.
