Prince releases new video collaboration for Marz, featuring all-female band 3rdEyeGirl. The old-school rock song is from his 36th full-length studio album Plectrumelectrum.
The live-performance video was posted to YouTube by Warner Bros Records on January 16th, and seems to be fairly low budget. As well as killing off his Facebook and Twitter accounts, The Purple One has been very serious about ensuring his art is not distributed without his consent. He’s already warned YouTube and eBay that he would sue for not filtering unauthorised content. Well, good luck with that we say.
Childish Gambino’s new video for his song Sober was only posted a week ago to YouTube and has already accumulated over 3 million views. The video showcases some of his many talents including magic, acting, writing, producing, singing, comedy and dance. However, his lady-courting skills are in need of some serious polishing.
Great bits: His floor slide at 1:54 When the beat takes off at 2:49 and his dance routine that follows. The girl was just waiting for her takeaway order the whole time. How Gambino ends in the same exact way in which he started. Notice how the clock on the wall never changes time? This could mean lots of things, or nothing it all.
Happy Birthday to a 23 year old Mac Miller. It’s hard to believe he was only born in 1992 and already has such a built-up career. His song The Way featuring Ariana Grande now has 212,606,548 views on YouTube and helped catapult Ariana’s career into the A-listers league.
He’s also pretty buddy-buddy with Wiz Khalifa, another A-lister. You would think they would be close to some extent with their music having so many similarities. Though the relationship goes way beyond just that of a professional one. Wiz has called him his brother, and Mac has been quoted saying ”Wiz has been a big brother to me with this music thing so far. Our relationship is beyond music. He really is just my homie, whether I will be making music or not.” It’s very possible they will be together partying it up somewhere for Miller’s birthday bash.
Here at Creation we’re all about the music, art and visuals of an artists production. Mac Miller’s Of The Soul ticked all of our boxes and here’s what we loved about it:
The spoken intro: ”Looks like I wrote this song on paper… First time I did that in like 3 years… My handwriting is horrible and I can barely read this” The smooth, chilled vibe of the piano melody and beats, perfect for summer cruising. The 3 gymnasts and their sexy, beautifully choreographed dance routine. The multicoloured backdrop of spray-painted pyramids contrasting with the plain, clean white.
British pop/rock band Rixton unveiled the music video for their song Hotel Ceiling via VEVO on January 15th. The song, written by Ed Sheeran, has atypical lyrics and video. Despite the song’s sounding like a run of the mill love ballad, it’s a lot edgier than that.
“We chose not to be in the video because we didn’t want to distract from the actors who were really able to hone in on this story, and convey the meaning of our song,” Jake Roche tells us. “Since the lyrics have a strong narrative, we wanted to portray that in the video and we’re really thrilled how it turned out.”
The music video, starring Alice Eve, follows a wild and passionate relationship, but also cute, and fairly common for a pair of free spirits wrapped up in young love.
Things start to take a turn for the worse… and there’s a twist you don’t want to miss.
Robbie Williams’ song Love Is You, off his newest album Under the Radar Vol.1 is quite obviously a love letter. The song and video alike are simple, sincere and showcase his softer side and gentler vocal range.
When the album was first announced it was described as a collection of discards and demos that ‘cried out for a home’. He told his fans he wanted them to hear all these songs that he had written and felt incredibly passionate about, otherwise they would have remained on his computer. Interestingly enough, the album was released the same day as Take That’s III. How’s that for competition?
Here’s the endearing lyrical music video that was released to YouTube earlier this week, presented in a doodle-type crumpled note paper style.
Under the Radar Vol.1 Tracklist 1. Bully 2. Raver 3. H.E.S. (Heavy Entertainment Show) 4. The Edge 5. All Climb On 6. Surrender 7. Love Is You 8. The Cure 9. The Pilot 10. The Brits 11. National Treasure 12. Super Tony 13. Greenlight 14. Bullet

A few weeks ago we were cozied up listening to Baby, It’s Cold Outside. And though our winter wonderlands still remain, Ne-Yo is determined to heat things up with his new music video.
Coming With You is the R&B artists latest single off his upcoming album Non-Fiction, due to be released January 27th. Brimming with vibrant colours, beautiful beach shots and funky edits, It’s definitely a summer party style dance track. The video features an array of mouth-watering scantily clad models, bay-watch style, and they certainly know how to strut their stuff.
What we love: Ne-Yos ‘90s inspired patch-coloured blazer. The subtle funky dance moves you’d miss if you blinked. The catwalk on a boardwalk pier. The Michael Jackson inspired thunder storm night scenes.

#ThrowbackThursday Today we go back to 1983 when Men at Work started a 4-week run at Nº1 on the US charts with the whacky, quirky, wonderful track Down Under (also known as “Land Down Under”), Australia’s unofficial theme song. The hit also scored a Nº1 position in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark & Switzerland and reached the top 10 in many other countries, selling 2 million copies in the US alone.
The song was written by the group’s co-founders, Colin Hay and Ron Strykert. Colin Hay told Songfacts: “The chorus is really about the selling of Australia in many ways, the overdevelopment of the country. It was a song about the loss of spirit in that country. It’s really about the plundering of the country by greedy people. It is ultimately about celebrating the country, but not in a nationalistic way and not in a flag-waving sense. It’s really more than that.”
The flute part in the song was based around the tune of “Kookaburra”, a well-known Australian children’s rhyme. Filmed in part at the Cronulla sand dunes outside of Sydney, the insane video was a huge hit on MTV. The guy who stands up and offers the Vegemite sandwich is the band’s drummer, Jerry Speiser. He wasn’t really “6 foot 4 and full of muscles,” he had to stand on something to get extra height – he also wore a wig.

Maroon 5 crash real weddings in their new Sugar video and it’s wonderful! The band announces their intentions at the beginning of the clip: “It’s December 6th, 2014. We’re going to drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can.” They drive off in a couple of gorgeous convertible Cadillacs to complete their mission.
Frontman Adam Levine was blown away by the band’s marital tour de force. “It was an out of body experience,” he said. “I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.”
Levine told Entertainment Tonight that it was “stressful to arrange all of it” but the brides and grooms were certainly shocked that the band had crashed their weddings. “It was a lot of fun. It felt good to kind of surprise these people and make them happy. Happy that they liked our band too. It would have been a total disaster [if not]!”
Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin helmed the clip who is an old friend of Levine’s. They had been planning to collaborate for years. “It was one of the great experiences of my career making the Sugar video with Adam and the boys,” he said. “Literally lightning in a bottle. Adam and I are old friends and have been talking about doing something together for over a decade…. Plus, it’s very meaningful because the band was in New York 10 years ago and attended the original Wedding Crashers premiere.”
Sugar is the 3rd single from Maroon 5’s fifth studio album V, following Maps and Animals. V came in at Nº 4 on on Rolling Stone’s list of the Year’s 20 Best Pop Albums.
The video was uploaded to Vevo yesterday (January 14) and it has already notched up 2.7 million views in under 24 hours! The video will make its TV debut Saturday, January 17 at 9 a.m. on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown.

Move over, James Bond, Melissa McCarthy is horning in on your territory! The first trailer for Spy has been released and it’s hilarious! With Jason Statham, Jude Law, 50 Cent & Miranda Hart this is a must-watch. The Bond parallels are obvious and it’s such fun to see McCarthy play a spy character who is so far removed from the alpha male types we’re so used to seeing.
McCarthy plays a desk-bound CIA analyst who transforms into s Spy. Naturally, she has a hard time following the rules and staying out of trouble. Jude Law plays a suave super spy and Jason Statham plays an arrogant, yet clumsy spy – you’d think these guys would be more at home in a serious spy thriller rather than a goofy comedy, but we’re certainly not complaining! It’s unclear how 50 Cent figures into the plot, but he will play himself.
Official Synopsis: Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Jason Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.
Directed by Paul Feig this movie marks yet another collaboration with Mccarthy. Their fruitful relationship started with Bridesmaids, which took both of their careers to another level. They worked together on 2013’s The Heat and are now looking to team up again with the Ghostbusters reboot.
We have so much spy fun to look forward to this year – what with Kingsmen, Agent Carter the new James Bond movie and now Spy, 2015 is shaping up to be the Year of the Spy and we’re real happy with that! The film will hit cinema’s on May 22, 2015.

John Legend & Common have released a music video for their Golden Globe-winning masterpiece Glory from the Selma soundtrack. With lines about Rosa Parks, Ferguson and Dr. King this song is powerful and moving! Glory was named Best Original Song at the Golden Globes on Sunday (Jan 18), with Legend and Common beating stiff competition including Sia and Lorde.
Common and Legend were presented with their Golden Globe by Prince and Common said: “I am the hopeful black woman who was denied the right to vote. I am the caring white supporter killed on the frontline of freedom. I am the unarmed black kid, who maybe needed a hand, but instead of was given a bullet. I am the two fallen police officers slain in the line of duty. Selma has awakened my humanity.” Legend added: “I’m so honoured to be a part of this amazing film. We’re so grateful to write this song.”
“The first day I stepped on the set of Selma, I began to feel like this was bigger than a movie,” Common said in his Golden Globes acceptance speech. The critically acclaimed film Selma is an American historical drama directed by Ava DuVernay and written by Paul Webb. It is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches led by James Bevel, Hosea Williams, and Martin Luther King, Jr. It stars David Oyelowo as King, Tom Wilkinson as President Lyndon Johnson, Common as Bevel, and Carmen Ejogo as Coretta Scott King.
We loved the comments on YouTube under this video – here are a few:
I first heard this song today, and it immediately grabbed hold of my heart. Beautiful, beautiful chorus/hook.
Great song
No auto tune
Rap lyrics that doesn’t involve big booty bitches and getting money or selling drugs
Delivers a powerful message
Classical music being used instead of electronic music
Thank you John Legend and Common
