Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless

Here at Creation 5 we are unapologetic Swifties – we love her music and her spunky, charming persona. 2014 was certainly the year of Taylor Swift – Billboard Woman of the Year, the Most Powerful Woman in UK Media (The Guardians Power List), on the cover of Time magazine and just about every other magazine we read – yet now we are well and truly into 2015 the Swift Universe continues to dominate the headlines.

Last week she won 3 People’s Choice Awards, winning in every category for which she was nominated – Favourite Female Artist, Favourite Pop Artist and Favourite Song (Shake It Off). She is on the front cover of Cosmopolitan China’s January issue and news broke on the first day of 2015 that her latest album, 1989, was the top selling album of the year selling 3.66 million copies, according to Nielsen Music. She has 3 Grammy Nominations – Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for Shake it Off and her 1989 World Tour will begin next month in Tokyo.

Taylor has worked her way into everyone’s heart and we just can’t Shake it Off 🙂 So for Showtime today we go backstage, onstage and around the world with the story of a little girl who dared to dream big – Journey to Fearless. This documentary, mixed with some fun concert footage, tells the Swift Story with revealing interviews and lots of behind-the-scenes footage. During this two hour show you will get to see impossibly cute, early home videos, home movies and kick-ass performances from the Fearless tour.

The movie begins by telling Swift’s life story, explaining the stories behind certain songs and taking the viewer on the road. It eventually grows into a concert documentary, revealing the elaborate stage sets and how these came together. Swift played a major part in the creation of the set ensuring that it always contains her two favourite things – sparkles and surprises. When she finally sees the half-Romanesque, half-picturesque castle on which she’ll be performing “Love Story,” she’s almost in shock: “I could fall off this and die… which is awesome,” she exclaims.

The video introduces the story way better than we could: “This is a story of a little girl who dared to dream big. From her earliest performances to her first big break and the challenges along the way. She didn’t know it then, but even as a kid Taylor Swift was fearless. We’ll show you everything that went into making Fearless happen and share with you the inspiration behind some of your favourite songs. Come on the road with Taylor for her first headlining tour….
