Carlos Irwin Estévez was born in New York City, the youngest son of actor Martin Sheen and artist Janet Templeton. He became famous after a whole series of successful films: Platoon (1986), Lucas (1986), Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986), Wall Street (1987), Young Guns (1988), Eight Men Out (1988), Major League (1989), Hot Shots! (1991), The Three Musketeers (1993), The Arrival (1996), Money Talks (1997), and Being John Malkovich (1999).

In the 2000s, he became best known for his wonderful television roles – Spin City, for which he received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and Two and a Half Men which earned him several Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations. In 2010, he was the highest paid actor on television, earning 1.8 million dollars per episode of Two and a Half Men. He’s currently starring in the FX comedy series Anger Management.

It’s Charlie’s personal life that has made as many, if not more, headlines as his acting career. There have been many reports of drug and alcohol abuse and he was fired from Two and a Half Men in 2011. But nothing stops Charlie Sheen as he then went on a nationwide tour.

What Charlie says always manages to get in the headlines – here our our top 3 favourite quotes:

“I am on a drug. It’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available because if you try it once you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body. It’s too much.”

“I’m tired of pretending I’m not a total bitchin’ rock star from Mars.”

I’m different. I have a different constitution, I have a different brain, I have a different heart. I got tiger blood, man. Dying’s for fools, dying’s for amateurs.
