Nicki Minaj just released an extended music video to accompany the release of her new album, The Prinkprint. The 16 minute Pinkprint Movie is comprised of 3 parts which all relate back to tracks on her album – Part 1: The Crying Game, Part 2: I lied and Part 3: Grand Piano – featuring the tracks The Crying Game, All Things Go, and Grand Piano. If there was ever any doubt that Nicki’s broken heart was at the core of the album, this video cements it. It’s an awesome visual that compliments the album perfectly and seeing as words will never do it justice you’ll have to watch it for yourself.

It might not be an adrenaline-fuelled action video or a sexy twerk fest, but we rather like this raw and emotional side of Minaj – it feels real, rather than commercial. It’s like we are seeing her life on screen, putting her heart on the line.

The comments on YouTube are amusing – most people seem amazed at seeing this tender side of Minaj, others, as you would expect, are disappointed that there are no wiggling butts. I guess that’s the price you pay for releasing a video like Anaconda.

The Trinidad and Tobago-born rapper has had a busy week, her third studio album was released on December 15, the news broke that she was the face of Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2015 campaign – (tap here to read the story) and then yesterday (December 19) she uploaded this mini-movie to YouTube.

We like the The Pinkprint best out of all her albums, it’s raw and emotional and quite clear that she has put her blood, sweat and tears into it. There are 22 songs on the deluxe version and we didn’t skip one track. It has received generally positive reviews from music critics and is currently on track to debut inside the top 5 on Billboard 200 next week.
