Dream Angels Fantasy Bras

By | Music Videos | No Comments

The annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was held in London last week (December 2nd) and while we wait for it to air on TV we take a look at the stars of the show, or rather the bras of the show. The Dream Angels Fantasy Bras took centre stage and were worn by top Brazilian models Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima. Each of the bras were made by Mouawad jewellers and have an incredible 16,000 rubies, diamonds and sapphires strung together with 18 karat gold. These are lingerie sets so luxurious that they need their own bodyguard!

These amazing pieces of art (can they really be called bras?) took the designers more than 1,380 hours to make. Lima, 33 wore the blue and silver bra and Ambrosio, also 33, wore the red bra.

Ed Sheeran was the lucky artist to be performing whilst these sexy models made their way down the runway with 4 million dollars worth of bra’s and panties strung to their beautiful bodies.

Last year, Candice Swanepoel had the pleasure of showing off the Fantasy Bra, the 2013 version costing an incredible $10m.

The annual fashion extravaganza is the biggest fashion event worldwide – merging fashion, fantasy and entertainment into a runway spectacle, the company says. The 40 richest models in the world strut their stuff accompanied by the world’s top music artists. This year we will be able to watch Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Hozier.

Tune into to CBS on Tuesday December 9 to catch the show. In case you miss it, don’t worry, we will be posting a full length video of the show next weekend.

Trey Songz – Touchin, Lovin
ft. Nicki Minaj

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Trey Songz invites you to explore his fantasies in his new interactive video for his chart-topping single Touchin, Lovin featuring Nicki Minaj. In a recent interview with Buzzfeed, Songz commented, “I have a personal connection with my fans and I wanted this interactive video to be a way for them to get a glimpse into my world and my fantasies in a new way.” The song incorporates Fuck You Tonight, written by The Notorious B.I.G, Daron Jones, Sean Combs and R. Kelly.

Last week the R&B star, who is currently on tour with Chris Brown and Tyga, dropped this video for his hit single. Directed by Jason Zada, the interactive version of the video opens with the caption “To Explore Trey’s Fantasies,” and at different points in the video fans can choose different options for Songz, giving each viewer a tailored video-viewing.

Before the video is over Nicki Minaj appears on a throne, just to remind everyone that she reigns as the Queen of Rap. Her last collaboration with Songz was Bottoms Up in 2010.

Two interactive videos have been released in the last two weeks, this one and Coldplay’s Ink, which has 300 possible outcomes. It seems that these choose-your-own-adventure formats are becoming all the rage but actually they have been around for the last 10 years. It’s quite surprising really that in this digital age these interactive video formats have not taken over completely.

Touchin, Lovin is track 4 on Songz’s sixth studio album Trigga, which was released for streaming on June 24, along with the full album on MTV’s website.

We Gotta Pray – Alicia Keys

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Alicia Keys has released a beautiful, heartfelt new song and music video calling for unity, strength and love in the wake of Ferguson protests. The video includes heavy Ferguson-related imagery – like photographs of police officers confronting protestors – combined with archive footage of Ghandi, Martin Luther King and some famous quotes from these iconic civil rights activists. Keys released the video on Twitter this week following the grand jury’s decision in New York not to indict officer Daniel Pantaleo for the chokehold death of Eric Garner.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

She told the New York Times that she wrote the song after being moved by the deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson and Garner in New York, who both died at the hands of white policemen. “We absolutely feel disregarded as human beings,” said the 33-year-old singer. And even though Keys is 9 months pregnant with her second child she expects to join the protests on the ground. “We will continue to be loud,” she said. “I hope that this is our 21st-century civil rights movement. You shouldn’t be surprised if you see me out there. The most important thing is that we look at each other and see these magnificent beings that can create the changes and movements we dream of,” she said.

J.Cole also released a song in response to the situation in Ferguson called Be Free – but while his song is wholly despairing, Keys mixes sentiments of strength and faith and declarations of self-affirmation that brings a hopeful message, “We are extraordinary people / Living ordinary lives.”

We Gotta Pray is a completely homemade production – “I recorded the song in a room one night, all alone,” the R&B superstar said. The song is currently at Nº6 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140.

DJ Earworm Mashup
United State of Pop 2014

By | Music Videos | No Comments

The musical mash-up maestro, DJ Earworm, has just released this year’s impressive mix and it’s a perfect summary of 2014 – Do What You Wanna Do! For the past 7 years the California producer has treated us to this annual mash up of the year’s 25 biggest hits. This year, the mood is more contemplative, paying respect to the ebb and flow of popular music.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

This years United State of Pop is probably the best one yet, even if you are not usually into mash ups you’re bound to enjoy this one. Expertly edited, it has clips of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea and more – it even has a sample of Let it Go from Frozen.

In an interview with Billboard Magazine Earworm said: “The thing that has been most notable in the past two or three years is the decline of EDM. The ‘United State of Pop’ became this dance track from ’09 to ’12, and then starting last year, there just wasn’t enough in that genre to fully support it, so I went down-tempo. And this year, Timber, which was popular in January, is the only popular dance track I’m dealing with. It’s definitely down-tempo, so you have to decide, how is this going to go? How am I going to maintain the energy levels while being true to the sound of the year?”

“2014 was dominated by these slow, ponderous songs like Say Something and All Of Me, and then swaggering hip-hop songs like Turn Down For What, Talk Dirty, and Black Widow. Then you have totally uptempo songs like Happy and Shake It Off, too. It’s a little bit more diverse, and definitely softer than it’s been.”

Earworm (real name, Jordan Roseman) has been obsessed with the Billboard charts since he was 11 years old: “When I was a little boy, I used to tune in to Top 40 shows on the weekends, and I’ve always been fascinated by what makes popular tastes tick … It’s great to be able to come full-circle with Billboard.”

Charli XCX – Breaking Up

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Charli XCX shows that dumping someone is actually easier than you think in her brilliant 70s inspired music video for Breaking Up. The “Boom Clap” singer is obviously finished with being super sweet as this fired-up, kiss-ass track shows.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

The cartoony visual, with it’s combination of low-budget graininess and bright neon colours, shows Charli and her girlfriends hitting the bowling alley and mercilessly taunting the sucker that she broke up with. Mind you, it was appropriate behaviour considering how rude the boyfriend was. It’s certainly this year’s feistiest breakup anthem.

Breaking Up is the latest single to be released from Charli’s punk-rock inspired sophomore album, Sucker, which will be released on December 15.

It’s been a really busy year for Charli which will end with a performance on Saturday Night Live in December. Next year she starts a UK tour which kicks of in Brighton on March 24.

Reincarnation, a film by Karl Lagerfeld

By | Music Videos | No Comments

After weeks of hype Reincarnation has finally landed – a beautifully absurd short film directed by Karl Lagerfeld ft. Pharrell Williams, Cara Delevingne & Géraldine Chaplin, telling the story of the iconic Chanel jacket. As well as starring in the film, Pharrell wrote and composed CC the World, the soundtrack to the film and he and British model Cara Delevingne sing the duet and show off their impressive waltzing skills. (Is there anything Delevingne can’t do?) The film is the evocation of another era, that of the Austro-Hungarian Empire – brought to life for one night in the heart of the 1950s.

(To watch this short film in Creation 5, just tap here.)

The film tells the story of Coco Chanel, and her inspiration for Chanel’s signature jacket. When she goes to Austria in 1954, she spots the hotel elevator hand (played by Pharrell), who becomes her muse. The 7 minute clip was created to accompany the Chanel Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection shown yesterday (December 2nd) in Salzburg, Austria. Pharrell and Delevingne play mischievous hotel employees who transform into Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth (“Sisi”) of Austria, respectively, for a combined midnight waltz/duet. (Is the chirped refrain actually CC or Sisi?)

Before the film premiered, Delevingne posted this side-by-side comparison of the Austrian royal family and the Chanel-cast couple on Instagram:

Reincarnation premiering tonight @pharrell @i_am_other @chanelofficial @karllagerfeld @tompecheux @sammcknight1

Een foto die is geplaatst door Cara Delevingne (@caradelevingne) op

“It was time to show the origins of the CHANEL jacket, inspired by the one worn by the lift attendant in a hotel near Salzburg in the 1950s (…) Reincarnation is the story of a lift attendant’s jacket being reincarnated as a timeless piece of women’s wear,” declares Karl Lagerfeld. “None of this would have been possible without Pharrell Williams, Cara Delevingne and Geraldine Chaplin. It’s the perfect cast. Pharrell is a genius and Geraldine at her best in the role of Gabrielle Chanel in the year of her comeback.”

Pharrell is a close friend of the House and personal friend of Karl Lagerfeld and will be, along with Delevingne, the face of the upcoming campaign of the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

Viral video fan and editor extraordinaire Matthijs Vlot has produced an awesome cut using a variety of clips from throughout the series that makes the characters spit really dope rhymes.

Matthijs uses video as a tool for commentary on the world we live in, and for enjoyment of course! He said, “As I got into the project, I stumbled upon the ‘this is my product’ phrase, and I was like, ‘Damn, this says it all.'”

There have been other Breaking Bad raps but this new one is truly epic! Thank you Matthijs Vlot – the genius is in the verse, not the chorus. It features some of the best lines and memorable moments from the series.

Happy Birthday to Britney Spears

By | Music Videos | No Comments

Happy Birthday to the Princess of Pop – Britney Spears turns 33 today! She has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and over 100 million singles making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. You better Work Bitch! In celebration of this chart-topping number and Britney’s birthday – check out Britney being a Bitch on the X-Factor USA.

(To watch this video in Creation 5, just tap here.)

Spears has earned many awards and titles throughout her career including a Grammy Award, 6 MTV Video Music Awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award, 9 Billboard Music Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In December last year she took up residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas with her show Piece of Me. She was to perform 50 shows a year for two years. The show has been such a success that a couple of months ago Spears confirmed on Good Morning America that she had extended her contract and will continue the residency for a further two years.

Las Vegas Sun journalist Robin Leach said that Spears “proved that she’s still reigning royalty in the music world” with the residency, adding that the show is “an amazing and incredible accomplishment because in less than two hours, Britney changed the look of our Strip entertainment scene. For the first time, she single-handedly brought the spectacle of a touring arena show into a nightclub-like theater and pulled off the gamble with a flawless performance.”

Last month Britney was presented with the Key to the City of Las Vegas and November 5th was officially proclaimed as Britney Day.
