The first full-length trailer for the 24th James Bond movie, Spectre, has arrived! The two-and-a-half minute action-packed clip sees Daniel Craig in black and white tie, a car that does 0-60mph in three seconds, exploding planes, somersaulting helicopters, plenty of sexy stuff and Christoph Waltz announcing himself as ‘the author of all your pain’. All the hallmarks of a classic Bond movie!
As any Bond fan will know SPECTRE is the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, controlled by the cat-stroking Ernst Stavro Blofeld, which first appeared in the Thunderball novel (1961). Speculation has it that Christoph Waltz will take on the latest incarnation of the evil character, previously played by Donald Pleasance, Telly Savalas and Charles Gray.
Spectre picks up from the events of Skyfall as Bond receives a cryptic message from his past leading him to confront the deadly criminal organisation. This is Daniel Craig’s fourth appearance as Bond with Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear and Naomie Harris also reprising their roles. Waltz, Dave Bautista and Andrew Scott are all newcomers.
Spectre hits theatres in the UK on October 26, the same day as its world premiere in London. The US release follows on November 6.
The official storyline is as follows: A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.
As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.
