“All this good versus evil shit is played out, it’s time for bad versus evil.” so said David Ayer at Comic Con last weekend. The most dangerous super villains on the planet come together to save the world. Sort of. Going by the first look at this trailer Ayer’s vision is a complete success. The trailer brought the house down at Comic Con with the highlight being the debut of Jared Leto’s Joker - the first actor to play the super villain on-screen since the late Heath Ledger's portrayal in box office hit The Dark Knight.
Suicide Squad is the first mainstream comic book movie primarily about the bad guys and stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Queen and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller alongside Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
The basic storyline is as follows: A group of villains is employed by Amanda Waller, the chief of A.R.G.U.S. (a super secret government agency) to take on super dangerous missions for the greater good of the of the human race they've terrified. The villains are employed to work for the “good guys” or die trying - the ultimate military draft.
Suicide Squad is scheduled for release on 5 August 2016. Watch the epic trailer above, or tap here to play in C5.
