Apple has resurrected one of it’s greatest successes launching a new line of powerful iPods. The iPod Touch now has a hugely better camera and a much faster processor - the same A8 processor as the iPhone 6. There is also a new iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle.
All this new power means that the iPod graphics performance is a whopping 10 times faster than its predecessor! Gaming on the iPod is now a different world!
The 8-megapixel primary iSight camera and a secondary FaceTime HD camera up front make the iPod a pretty useful tool! It also gets the iPhone’s M8 sensor package, allowing detailed fitness and activity feedback.
Everything on the 4-inch multi-Touch Retina display screen is sharp, vivid, and lifelike with a resolution of 1136 x 640. Battery life is excellent with up to 40 hours for music playback and 8 hours for video playback. All of this for only $199 for 16 GB, rising to $399 for the 128 GB model. The Nano is priced at $149 (16 GB) and the iPod Shuffle at $49 (2GB).
"iPod touch gives customers around the world access to Apple Music, the App Store and iOS, the world's most advanced mobile operating system, starting at just $199," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of iPhone, iPod and iOS Product Marketing.
"With big advancements like the A8 chip and the 8 megapixel iSight camera, customers can experience next-level gameplay, take even more beautiful photos and enjoy their favourite music, TV shows and movies."
iPod Touch comes with iOS 8 and a collection of powerful built-in apps and includes the latest in wireless technologies. It’s available in 5 stunning colours, including the iPhone-look-alike space grey, silver and gold.
